improvising through artistic movements

Inspired on Julian Rosefeldt’s Manifesto, Playing with Words is a work performed and curated by Kalea and artist Phoebe Pryor that reimagines music’s pasts through literature, original compositions/improvisation, and live drawing. It engages with the many artistic and literary movements of the 19th and 20th centuries, including Romanticism, Existentialism, Symbolism, Imagism, Cubism, and Futurism, and takes its inspiration from the poetry and writings Goethe, Søren Kierkegaard, Gertrude Stein, Ezra Pound, W.H. Auden, among many others.
